Capella Marigot Bay Wedding
This family took wedding reception to another level
Christian and I, Jerilyn, met in high school in 2003 through a mutual friend. Christian was a junior and I was a sophomore. Christian would always smile at me, write me silly notes , and drink my chocolate milk during lunch. On March 22, 2003, he asked me to be his girlfriend and our journey began.
On July 12th, 2015, Christian told me he made a reservation at a restaurant. As we pulled into the parking lot, I noticed trucks and hot air balloons on the field behind the restaurant . To my surprise, Christian said that the balloon ride was for me as a belated birthday present. I was so excited as it was something that I had always wanted to do. That same day was also Christian's birthday.
As the hot air balloon took off, Christian asked me to turn around because the view was better on his side. As I looked out, I saw a banner in the distant field that read, Will you marry me? Clueless, I said, "Aww look Christian, someone is proposing," as we were joined by three other hot air balloons. When I turned back around, I found Christian on his knee with the ring in his hand. Christian said, "It's my birthday and you are the best gift I could ever have, will you marry me?" As tears rolled down my face and without a doubt, I said, "Yes! Yes! Yes!"
Their Wedding| March 22nd 2017
What do you get when a car enthusiast and a nurse, travel to St lucia with family and friends to get married? The most epic amount of fun. Jerilyn Padilla and Christian Paez, exchanged vows in St Lucia, at the luxury Capella Marigot Bay Resort .
You wouldn't guess the amount of fun that the family had during their short time on the island. The wedding celebration started with a rehearsal and welcome party onboard a catamaran, a day before the wedding. This started with a bang, with lots of breathtaking views, drinking, dancing and laughing. What a way to let off the old jetlag.
Guests are greeted by an ambiance of well positioned chairs sitting on rich green lawn. They all sit patiently, awaiting the big moment. The groom can also be seen patiently awaiting his bride. Gracefully, the wedding party walks down the aisle towards the well decorated white arch. Strategically placed, creatively printed signs put a smile on every ones face. One sign reads, "um has anyone seen the rings?" A toddler's sing reads " ladies don't worry, i'm still single. Of all the signs my favorite reads: "Mummy, we know you would be here today if heaven wasn't so far away." Tears of joy can be seen from the sister of the bride.
The big moment arrives and the bride walks down the aisle, supported by her brother. A beautiful bride indeed. She carefully wipes tears from her eyes. We witnessed a very smooth, loving and emotional ceremony which ends with the newlywed couple dancing away happily. They are then greeted with sincere hugs and kisses from their family.
Whilst the couple and the wedding party did group photos, guests make their way to the bar at Capella's Rum Deck to enjoy the finest selection of Caribbean and international drinks. In the background is the smooth sound of Caribbean steel pan melody. Can you imagine great conversation, rum and mouth watering canapes? There is no better way to celebrate such a memorable moment.
Reception & Dinner Party
If the welcome party wasn't fun enough yet, wait till you read about the reception.
To start off the reception on the Observation Deck, the DJ requested everyone, except the wedding party to have a sit at the dinner table. A fantastic job was done by the Capella Marigot Bay staff, with the table setting. The setting was gorgeous, rich and well organized.
The DJ announces the entrance of the wedding party producing echoes of cheers and applause as they made their grand entrance. The big moment was here!, Drake's One Dance song came through the speakers as the the DJ then says "For the first time Mr and Mrs Paez". The beautiful couple dance onto the observation deck. The couple smoothly transitions into the first dance, which is followed by the bride and brother dance and lastly the groom and mother dance.
The DJ welcomed everyone to the beautiful island, and the awesome wedding of Jerilyn and Christian. Dinner would not be satisfactory without first asking for blessing over the meal by the bride's cousin."Ladies and gentleman dinner is served..."
Speeches and Dancing
Dinner is preceded by a prayer of blessings and thanksgiving by the bride's cousin. In between dinner, we heard two delightful speeches from the maid of honor and the best man. The speeches told the memoire of an absolute love story of two teenage sweethearts. They beat all the odds of life, supported one another and rewarded their relationship with the most amazing wedding in St Lucia.
What happens next is even more interesting. As soon as dinner was done, the guest were pleasantly surprised with one hour of Caribbean style entertainment of fire-eating and limbo dancing. The DJ then played a banging hit song to get the party going. The party was high on energy with everyone on the dancefloor.
This was followed by the traditional, singles ladies bouquet toss, garter toss and cutting of the cake. The wedding party went right into the dancing and partying. The DJ played different genres of music including hip pop,RnB, rap, soca, dancehall, salsa etc, while using the microphone to engage the crowd. Everyone was having a blast. The hotel staff, including the chef and the bartender soon joined in the celebration. The wedding reception ended on a high note, one hour after the schedule end time. To blow off the steam, the wedding crowd including the bride and groom in wedding dress and tux jumped straight into a nearby pool.
Client’s Review To Us
If you are looking for a DJ in St. Lucia, please do not hesitate to contact Romanus! I just got married in Marigot Bay last week and words will not do it justice. I had to communicate with Romanus via email since it was a destination wedding and he responded promptly to all my emails. I felt like I could trust him because of his professionalism and how quickly he responded to my questions, even if they were not related to music, but was relevant to the wedding. He was also extremely flexible and was always available to talk when I needed to discuss certain things with him.
I was really worried since I had to do everything remotely, but I am extremely pleased with his performance. All the guests were happy and dancing. We gave him a list of songs to play, but he was able to feel the crowd and do what he does best! I highly recommend Romanus. He will work with your requests and make you feel like you have known him longer.
Romanus, I cannot say it enough, thank you a million times for the great service and entertainment. You made our day so memorable and we cannot thank you enough. If we ever have a party in St. Lucia in the future, we know we have someone we can call! Good luck with everything and all the best!!!
Lots of love,
Jerilyn & Christian
