YOUR PEOPLE. YOUR MUSIC. YOUR CELEBRATION.

Your Wedding
Music Planning Guide

From walking down the aisle to the last song of the night, build a soundtrack that feels like you. A little direction helps your DJ bring the moments together.

Start Your Music Checklist ↓

Start With the Feeling

You don’t need to choose every song. Start with the atmosphere you want, the music you both love and the people celebrating with you. We’ll use that direction while reading the room throughout the event.

Your sound

Which genres, eras or artists feel like you? Tell us whether you love Caribbean favourites, R&B, throwbacks, current hits or a mix.

Your guests

Share the age range, cultures and musical tastes in your crowd. Let us know about any traditions or songs that bring your families together.

Your energy

Think about the flow: relaxed arrivals, a romantic first dance, upbeat dinner transitions and a lively dance floor. Tell us what matters most.

CHOOSE THE MOMENTS THAT MATTER TO YOU

Your Wedding Music Checklist

Use this as a planning prompt. Choose the traditions you want to include and skip anything that doesn’t fit your celebration.

01 · CEREMONY

Before & During “I Do”

  • Guest arrival and seating music
  • Wedding party entrance
  • Your walk down the aisle
  • Signing or another ceremony moment, if included
  • Your exit together after the ceremony

For each entrance, tell us the order and the exact point where you would like the song to begin. Coordinate the cues with your officiant or planner.

02 · COCKTAIL HOUR & DINNER

Set the Atmosphere

  • Relaxed background music as guests mingle
  • Genres or artists you enjoy
  • Dinner music that leaves room for conversation
  • Any announcements, speeches or toasts

Let us know when the celebration moves between spaces. If musicians are also performing, share their timings so we can plan the transitions.

03 · RECEPTION HIGHLIGHTS

Make It Personal

  • Wedding party and couple introductions
  • First dance
  • Parent, family or other special dances
  • Cake cutting, bouquet toss or other traditions, if wanted
  • Any surprise performance or planned moment

Include names and pronunciation notes for announcements. For special dances, tell us whether you want the full song or a shorter version.

04 · DANCE FLOOR & FINALE

Bring Everyone Together

  • Favourite dance-floor songs and genres
  • Songs your family or friends always celebrate to
  • Must-play and do-not-play selections
  • Your preference for guest requests
  • Last dance, private final dance or send-off, if included

A clear sense of your taste gives your DJ room to connect the songs, follow the crowd and build the energy.

Three Lists That Help Your DJ

Must-play

Choose your most important songs and flag the ones that truly cannot be missed. Separate your special-moment songs from general party requests.

Would-love-to-hear

Add favourites that show your taste without making every song compulsory. A shared playlist is a useful guide to the atmosphere you enjoy.

Do-not-play

List songs, artists, genres or versions you want avoided. Mention sensitive associations and whether you prefer clean edits.

Your playlist helps us understand your taste; it doesn’t need to map out the whole night song by song. Tell us if a particular order or transition is important.

Get the Right Version

Be specific with special songs

Send the song title, artist and a link to the exact version. A live recording, acoustic cover, remix and original can have very different introductions and timings.

For an aisle entrance or special dance, include the start point and any ending cue. Discuss edits, mashups or unusual versions with us in advance so we can confirm what is possible.

Agree how requests will work

Tell us whether guests can make requests freely, whether requests should follow your preferred genres, or whether you would rather keep them limited.

We consider requests alongside your preferences, do-not-play list and the energy in the room. A request may fit better later in the evening.

Bring the Music & Timeline Together

  1. Share your first ideas

Send your favourite genres, key songs and outline schedule. Unfinished plans are fine—identify anything still to be decided.

  2. Coordinate the key moments

Include your planner or venue contact, introductions, speeches and performances. Tell us who will give cues and who is making announcements.

  3. Agree when to finalise

We’ll agree when we need the final song selections and timeline. Send changes as early as possible so we can confirm them before the day.
